Important Notice to the British Community in Rwanda

You may be aware already that passport applications submitted to the British Embassy in Kigali are processed in Kampala. We were previously able to include passport applications in a courier parcel with visa applications. We are no longer able to do this. Therefore we will offer from today a choice of services, the costs of which are as follows:

$276 for ordinary passport, $200 for ordinary passport for under 16s and $321 for jumbo passport. This will include the costs of a return courier fee and will provide for the fastest service – at least 12 working days, including courier travel to and from Kigali.

$179 for ordinary passport, $114 for ordinary passport under 16s and $216 for jumbo passport. The passport will be sent by diplomatic bag via London. The passport will be returned within a minimum of six weeks.

Put in costs travel to neighbouring countries (Uganda, Kenya etc) to have passport processed within 10 working days. This will costs £119 for ordinary passport, £76 for ordinary passport under 16s and £144 for jumbo passport. This will be payable in the country's local currency at the prevailing rate of exchange.

We advise you to submit applications as early as possible to enable us to provide you with the best and most economical service.
