DRC Conflict
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) is a huge country with lot of economic resources. While it has been at the centre of what could be termed as Africa's world war, people in the region have been left in the grip of a humanitarian crisis.
Recent fighting in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has further worsened the existing situation. The displacement of an additional 55,000 people in North Kivu in the past weeks compounds the suffering that has continued for years. Access to food, sanitation and shelter is urgently needed. The situation in the Eastern DRC remains unstable. There is definitely an urgent need for a political solution to the region's problems.
