Government of Rwanda and DFID sign partnership to increase regional integration and trade for Rwanda

On Friday 27 February, the governments of Rwanda and the United Kingdom (UK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a 3-year programme of assistance worth £2 million to promote increased regional integration and trade for Rwanda in the East African Community (EAC). The Hon James Musoni, the Minister of Finance, signed the MOU for the Government of Rwanda and H.E. Nicholas Cannon, the British Ambassador to Rwanda, signed for the UK Government.


The governments of Rwanda and UK strongly believe that economic growth is the engine of development and to stimulate growth it is necessary to integrate markets, remove barriers to trade and reduce the region’s high transportation costs
